Lenovo S850 Smartphone Launch

[Tech & Gadgets]

Lenovo launched its new S850 smartphone at The Beer in Publika, Kuala Lumpur on 4 September with a social responsibility campaign aimed at raising funds for the Breast Cancer Welfare Association Malaysia (BCWA).

Lenovo is currently the number one PC maker in the world, and third largest smart connected device maker, having expanded aggressively into the global smartphone market, introducing smartphones in 25 countries over the past two years.

In fact, I’ve been to three (3) of Lenovo’s key smartphone launches this year alone and you can read more about those devices (which includes the flagship Vibe Z) here:

The new S850 smartphone combining sleek design elements and equipped with a quad-core MediaTek (MTK) processor, complements Lenovo’s existing portfolio of smartphones coming in at a surprisingly affordable price. This new slim yet feature-packed smartphone by Lenovo which is available in three (3) different colours including pink, dark blue and white, gives consumers greater choices across multiple price points to fit both lifestyle and budget.

Besides running on Android Kit Kat, the smartphone has a host of new features, including sharp image capture functions and Lenovo’s range of DOit apps. The device comes with dual SIM capability as well as a 5MP wide-angle front camera which girls will find great for selfies, and flash-equipped 13MP rear camera to shoot everything else. Other features include a 5″ screen and an all round glass like finishing which adds a more classy look to the phone unlike some of the more plasticky smartphones out there.

“The new S850 smartphone perfectly complements the full range of mobile devices available to consumers around the world, letting consumers easily pick the Lenovo smartphone that’s right for them,” said Khoo Hung Chuan, Country General Manager, Lenovo Malaysia. “Customers from around the world told us that they wanted greater user experience without sacrificing performance, so we built this smartphone with style and blazing fast processing speeds to maximise the onboard range of integrated Lenovo apps.”

Lenovo Malaysia will be supporting the Breast Cancer Welfare Association Malaysia (BCWA) as the company believes in giving back to society, and will donate RM10 from each of the first 1,000 Lenovo S850 units sold from 4th September until 30th September 2014.

“We are extremely heartened to partner with an established technological brand such as Lenovo which continues to grow exponentially in the smartphone market. With this additional contribution and support, this partnership allows us to further raise awareness on breast cancer amongst the public,” said Dr. Zahara Ayub, President, Breast Cancer Welfare Association Malaysia.
