Breakfast at Madisons & H-Artistry Penang 2014 – Artiste Lineup
Breakfast at Madisons
Bloggers these days are getting quite a bad rep for food reviews. As I’m sure you know, many so called bloggers out there are asking restaurant to host them for reviews so they can get a free meal and then write a positive review even though the food was only mediocre. Well it’s a good thing that most good hotels and restaurants in Kuala Lumpur have wisened up to this, and thus only invite bloggers who provide ethical and honest editorial even though it might NOT be the most glowing write-up.
I must be honest and say that yes, most of the food reviews on my blog are sponsored. However I will never claim that the food is awesome or fantastic when it is not. If you noticed, I will usually write more about the dishes I’m impressed with and quite basic info on those which I thought were rather normal.
Well I was so impressed with the food at Madisons during my visit there in March earlier this year (you can read more about it here – https://timchew.net/2014/03/17/romantic-dining-spots-madisons-jalan-bangkung/) that I headed back to Madisons to try out their breakfast (non-hosted, ie. I paid with my own money) on a really hot Saturday morning.
Madisons might be a tad bit more expensive than your ordinary breakfast cafe but your food is made to order unlike the cafes in Telawi or Uptown where everything is mass produced and cold by the time it reaches your table. Also, as Madisons is not famous for its breakfast menu yet, you won’t have to Q up outside, be uncomfortably close to the next table, or shout at your friends to be heard over the din at other cafes.
MADISONS is located at
65, Jalan Bangkung, Bukit Bandaraya,
59100 Kuala Lumpur,
Operating hours: Open daily (Mon – Sun) from 11.00am till late
There is ample parking along Jalan Bangkung on weekends and in the evenings.

And before I forget. Remember the degustation menu I was telling you about in my last post? Well Madisons now has it as part of their offerings! You MUST call ahead to reserve though.
H-Artistry Penang 2014 – Artiste Lineup
If you haven’t heard yet, H-Artistry will be happening in Penang this weekend and you can get the full info here – https://timchew.net/2014/05/09/amber-chia-academy-graduation-show-2014-hennessy-artistry-penang-2014-announcement/
In this post, I will be sharing some info on the artistes that will be performing at this super club experience!
Multi-genre MandoPop band which hails from Taiwan brings a fresh and new style of music through their fusion of rock, hip-hop and EDM beats. The boys from Magic Power are hailed as MandoPop’s number 1 EDM band, and have been taking over airwaves and hearts all around the world with hits such as ‘Gan Jue Fan’ and ‘Tian Ji’. Girls, get ready to have your hearts set aflutter and don’t forget to bring your cameras!
The sexy DJ Brooklyn who hails from the Gold Coast in Australia was introduced to the stage at a very young age and has not looked back ever since. Inspired by Havana Brown’s performance style (who incidentally has performed at H-Artistry KL before), DJ Brooklyn is famous for her big-room tunes and her infectious energetic personality – something that I’m sure the guys in the crowd will really appreciate!
IMBYU is one of Malaysia’s very own group of house music heroes – consisting of Mr Fluff, Addic3rd and Unkle Jaymz. Heavily influenced by Alesso, Avicii, Dada Life, and Tommy Trash, the big room style of IMBYU will surely blow the roof off at the upcoming party!
Paperplane Pursuit is well known in Malaysia for their pop-inspired beats and songs. Having released their first single and mini album in 2009, which was featured on MTV Asia, the trio have since released numerous hit singles such as ‘Everybody Wants Somebody’, ‘What If’ and ‘Beats of Your Love’. I suspect that this band will kick off the show so don’t be late!
