[Event]
When I received the invite to the House of Haagen Daz I truly had absolutely no idea what to expect. Couldn’t be a house made entirely of ice cream as Malaysia is way too hot. Or perhaps it could be but it’s in a giant freezer or something. So being curious I decided to Google it and I found this ad starring Bradley Cooper from the A-Team and The Hangover, alongside hot model Jana Peraz which was shot on location at the Zámek Ploskovice estate in Prague.

I also discovered that Haagen Daz was crafted back in 1960 by Reuben Mattus, and that the brand regards themselves as the original super premium ice cream. Holding true to tradition, Häagen-Dazs continues to produce their ice cream using only all-natural ingredients. No wonder they taste so good (my fav is their chocolate ice cream)!
However nothing else much turned up on “House of Haagen Daz” so I decided to go and see for myself. The venue though was not disclosed (how mysterious!) and I even joked to my bloggers that this was a “Where’s the Ice Cream?” party. On 27 June 2013, I picked up my partner and we headed to the pick-up point which was the main entrance of the KL Convention Centre and from there were shuttled over to the “secret” location which was Maison Francaise on Jalan Changkat Kia Peng.

Throughout the night were served with canapes (you can’t expect hungry guests to have ice cream and only ice cream all night right?), wine, and of course loads of Haagen Daz ice cream. In fact I don’t think I’ve ever eaten so much ice cream ever in one sitting! We were introduced to two new flavours namely the Secret Sensations Chocolate Fondant and Crème Brulee flavors which were also integrated into the cocktails!
Chocolate Fondant is a rich chocolate ice cream speckled with bits of brownies infused with pockets of decadent chocolate sauce, while Crème Brulee has multiple hearts of sweet caramel sauce hidden in folds of smooth and luscious crème brulee ice cream blended with caramelized sugar. Sinful…
We were also serenaded by jazz band at this very exclusive event of which every aspect of the party was well thought through and turns out was inspired by the craftsmanship (hence the mixologists meticulously making the cocktails), innovation (using Haagen Daz to make cocktails) and attention to detail and quality (beautiful setting, ambience and entertainment) that lies at the heart of Häagen-Dazs since 1961. I was really very impressed! It really felt like I was at a luxury brand’s event!
