
Miss Universe 2010 was crowned this morning (11.00am Malaysian time) in a glitzy ceremony hosted by superstar singer/ songwriter/ producer Brett Michaels and NBC national correspondent Natalie Morales at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.
Among the notable celebrities in the penal of judges for the live telecast were magician Criss Angel, actress Jane Seymour (of Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman fame), international model Niki Taylor, and actor William Baldwin.
Jimena Navarrete, a 22-year-old Mexico woman beat 82 other contestants from around the world to win the Miss Universe pageant. Looking absolutely stunning in a flowing red dress (evening gown round) and a violet bikini (swimwear round), Jimena was asked by pageant judge Olympic gold-medal figure skater Evan Lysacek how she felt about unsupervised Internet use, Navarrete said the Internet is important.
“I do believe that Internet is an indispensable, necessary tool for the present time,” she said through an interpreter. “We must be sure to teach them the values that we learned as a family.”
