Maserati Appoints Naza Italia as Sole Distibutor in Malaysia

Maserati Italy has appointed Naza Italia Sdn Bhd as the sole importer and distributor for Maserati bringing in its complete Quattroporte and GranTurismo ranges and services to Malaysia in a glitzy ceremony on 26 February 2009 at the Ritz Carlton in Kuala Lumpur. This appointment marks another milestone for Naza Italia, having been granted the exclusive rights for Ferrari in March 2008.

I was lucky enough to be invited to the ceremony, which welcomed the Maserati ‘Excellence Through Passion’ brand to Malaysian shores.

Maserati was established in Bologna in 1914. With nearly a century of heritage, Maserati has played an important role in the history of sports car culture and its development. With the relocation from Bologna to the current site in Modena, Maserati evolved and has produced some world’s finest sports cars in the form of the Quattroporte and GranTurismo.

SM Faisal, Group Chief Executive Officer of Naza Group of Companies and Naza Italia CEO said, “Naza Italia is proud to be able to bring the complete spectrum of the Maserati Quattroporte and GranTurismo models, especially the latest Maserati Quattroporte Sport GT S which was recently launched in America and Maserati GranTurismo S Automatic which will be launched in Europe.”

Naza Italia has invested RM10 million in this new partnership, and also emphasized the development of Naza Italia with proper training from Maserati for its sales and after sales services.

The company is currently completing the Naza Italia showroom, which is situated next to Naza Auto Mall PJ, the largest automotive showroom in Malaysia as recorded in the Malaysian Book of Records. The 45,000 sq ft centre consists of car display area and after sales service area complete with dedicated waiting lounge, delivery bay, genuine Maserati accessories and merchandising area.

The new Naza Italia showroom will combine a fully equipped 4S (sales, services, spare parts and system) centre, which offers the luxury and comfort reflecting the Maserati brand lifestyle. The showroom will allow Maserati owners in Malaysia to have an experience similar to that in Modena, Italy, and will offer a unique made-to-measure service to customize the car to match and suit the owners’ personality and individuality.

“The Maserati personalization programme offers each car owner the privilege to choose their own combinations, enabling them to create a style statement that is both personal and individual from the exterior to the interior. For the exterior, there are various ranges of colours, types of wheels and even colour ranges of brake callipers. For the interior, there are varied options of leather, stitching, carpets, roof linings, types of prestigious wood and lacquer finishes; a variety that will satisfy even the most demanding clients. All this will be available under one-roof at Naza Italia’s soon to be launched 4S Centre,” added SM Faisal.

The public will be able to view the Maserati GranTurismo and Quattroporte on 27 and 28 February 2009 at the Ritz-Carlton Kuala Lumpur Conference Centre Lobby from 11.00am to 5.00pm.
