Selling into a distant market requires capital, market knowledge and commercial contacts at the same time. For a manufacturer with a good product, the absence of any one of them can keep that product close to home.

10 CENTS CAPITAL, a Malaysian investment holding company, has built its strategy around that need, and capital is the link. Backed by AI technology and the company’s business network, the strategy is aimed at manufacturers, entrepreneurs and SMEs that take care to make good products, so that those products have a chance to reach buyers worldwide.

Three areas of investment

The strategy names three areas for investment: marketing driven by AI, international B2B trade, and sales channels within the local market. Each addresses a different obstacle between a product and an overseas buyer.

AI marketing is about presentation: products are described in the language, terms and context that buyers in each market understand. International B2B trade is about matching. The work begins by defining target customers and putting product and supply details in order; it then brings buyers and partners together and assists with quotations and negotiation. Local sales channels handle distribution in the destination market itself.

The first route: Asian manufacturing to Latin American markets

Brazil is the starting point, and the route runs from Asian manufacturers to buyers across Latin America. The choice rests on an established trade relationship. Two-way trade between Malaysia and Brazil totalled RM20.36 billion (US$4.46 billion) in 2024, and Brazil ranked second among Malaysia’s trading partners in Latin America. VIVAMOMENTO, the subsidiary of 10 CENTS CAPITAL, will lead the local work there: researching customers, entering the market, handling localisation and building business contacts.

The outcomes the strategy targets

The company states its intended results in commercial terms: products that break through market barriers, manufacturers that win steady orders, local businesses that find reliable supply, and creators and business partners who create real commercial value together.

These outcomes cover both sides of a transaction. The manufacturer gains orders, and the buyer in the destination market gains a dependable source of supply.

10 CENTS CAPITAL: from capital provider to network builder

Over the years since 2022, 10 CENTS CAPITAL has supported companies in enterprise services, consumer services, e-commerce and digital technology, providing capital investment alongside strategic support and resource connections. The new strategy applies the same combination to cross-border trade and adds technology to it.

The longer-term aim is a network. Director Peter LIEW described it in the company’s announcement: “Step by step, we will build a global business network that connects capital, manufacturing, creativity, channels and consumers, so that everyone who creates value has the chance to share in the gains of global trade.”

To fund the new lines of business, the company has raised US$20 million, which it will put to work in phases, with Brazil first. A network like this is built one market and one group of partners at a time.

What the model offers SMEs

For a manufacturer or SME considering overseas sales, the model brings capital, market research, multilingual marketing and introductions to buyers into a single strategy. Each of the three areas of investment addresses one part of the distance between a product and its buyers: language, market information or commercial contacts. Business enquiries are welcome through the company’s contact page.
