Kia Sales Malaysia presented its “Bold and Progressive” mobility vision at the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS) 2026, anchored by the Malaysian debut of the Kia K4 and a showcase spanning six models across the brand’s pavilion, alongside the launch of Kia TotalCare, an extended ownership programme offering up to eight years of coverage — a notable departure from the five-year terms that have typically defined Kia ownership in Malaysia.
The Kia Pavilion at KLIMS 2026 runs from 12 to 21 June 2026 at MITEC, presented as an integrated brand experience that combines vehicle display, powertrain diversity, design philosophy, and ownership confidence initiatives under a single show strategy.
“Today marks an important milestone for Kia Sales Malaysia as we showcase Kia’s Bold and Progressive international vision. Through the showcase of six exceptional models, including four global products, we are demonstrating our commitment to delivering innovative mobility solutions that meet the evolving needs of customers.”

Making its first appearance in Malaysia, the Kia K4 is showcased in GT-Line specification, reflecting the brand’s Opposites United design philosophy — an approach that pairs sporty exterior styling with the everyday usability expected of a family sedan. It is powered by a 1.6-litre TGDI inline-four engine producing 193 PS and 265 Nm, paired with McPherson strut front suspension and a multi-link rear setup, riding on 18-inch alloy wheels with 235/40R18 tyres for what Kia describes as enhanced stability and driving dynamics.
The cabin is built around Kia’s Integrated Panoramic Display — a unified arrangement comprising a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, 5-inch climate display and 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen — designed to consolidate driving information, climate control and entertainment functions into a single, continuous visual field rather than separated displays. Additional specification includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, wireless smartphone charging, dual-zone climate control, ventilated front seats and 60:40 split-folding rear seats, building on several generations of Kia sedan development globally.

The Kia EV4 represents the brand’s next-generation electric vehicle direction, built on the Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) that underpins much of Kia’s current EV lineup globally. It features a front-mounted electric motor producing 150 kW and 283 Nm, a top speed of 170 km/h and up to 612 km of WLTP-rated range from an 81.4 kWh battery — figures that place it competitively among electric sedans and crossovers at a similar specification tier internationally. DC fast charging from 10% to 80% is rated at 29 minutes using a 350 kW charger, a charging rate that, where supported by compatible infrastructure, would represent one of the faster charging capabilities available in its class. The EV4 includes Kia’s Integrated Panoramic Display and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability accessible from both the exterior and interior of the vehicle, allowing it to power external devices and equipment directly from the battery.
The Kia EV5 reinforces the brand’s broader sustainable mobility direction, with particular attention paid to eco-conscious cabin materials alongside practicality and comfort. Also built on the E-GMP platform, it delivers up to 230 kW and 480 Nm depending on variant, with a 0-100 km/h time of 6.1 seconds and WLTP range of up to 540 km. It supports DC fast charging up to 141 kW and features dual 12.3-inch displays, wireless connectivity, premium audio options and advanced convenience technologies including fingerprint authentication for vehicle access and V2L functionality.
The Kia PV5 is the first model built on Kia’s dedicated E-GMP.S Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) architecture — a platform purpose-built for applications beyond conventional passenger vehicle use. Designed for commercial, logistics and lifestyle applications, the PV5 Passenger variant produces 120 kW from a front-mounted motor and includes both V2L and Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) capabilities, extending its potential use cases beyond personal transport into fleet, delivery and shared mobility contexts. The model has received multiple international accolades, including MPV of the Year and Family Car of the Year honours at the 2026 What Car? Awards and TopGear.com EV Awards, alongside design recognition from the Red Dot and iF Design Awards — credentials that lend external validation to a genuinely new vehicle category for the Malaysian market.

On display and available for test drives, the Kia Carnival and Kia Sportage remain available at all authorised Kia dealerships nationwide independent of the KLIMS showcase.
The Carnival, available in seven-, eight- and 11-seater configurations, is powered by what Kia describes as the most efficient diesel engine in its class, producing 202 PS and 440 Nm of torque for what the brand characterises as effortless acceleration in a large MPV body. Over 900 km of range is achievable from a single full tank under WLTP test conditions — a figure with genuine relevance for Malaysian buyers who use MPVs for long-distance family travel and intercity journeys where minimising refuelling stops carries practical value.
The Sportage, offered in Malaysia in long-wheelbase form, is available with 2.0-litre naturally aspirated and 1.6-litre turbocharged engine options, paired respectively with six-speed automatic and eight-speed dual-clutch transmissions. Its design is distinguished by boomerang-inspired front LED daytime running lights, part of a styling direction the brand promotes under the tagline “Dare to Sportage.”
Visitors to the Kia Pavilion may place bookings on display models at KLIMS 2026 to access Kia TotalCare benefits and additional show-exclusive prizes.
Kia TotalCare, available from 1 June 2026, builds on the brand’s recent Kia Ownership Experience initiative, during which more than 170 vehicles with a combined mileage exceeding 14.2 million kilometres were inspected over seven days by Hyung Gyu Choi, Senior Technical Manager at Kia Corporation — an inspection exercise the brand has positioned as evidence of long-term reliability across its existing Malaysian customer base. The programme also follows the recent launch of the Kia Maintenance Plan, and is described by the company as reflecting customer demand for authorised, long-term ownership value beyond the traditional five-year period commonly associated with Kia ownership.
Customers who book a Kia Sportage or Kia Carnival (seven- or eight-seater variant) between June 1 and 22, 2026, and register by August 31, 2026, will receive an eight-year or 240,000 km vehicle warranty, eight years of free servicing covering up to eight compulsory service milestones, eight complimentary tyres claimable as a complete set or individually due to punctures or damage, an RM8,000 cash rebate and complimentary first-year insurance coverage — up to RM6,000 in premium value for the Carnival and up to RM4,000 for the Sportage.
Separately, customers booking any Kia model, including the Carnival 11-seater variant, between June 1 and 22, 2026, with vehicle registration completed by June 30, 2026, are eligible for additional prizes, including complimentary flight and accommodation packages to Seoul, South Korea, for three grand prize winners, and Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra smartphones for five consolation prize winners.
Beyond the vehicle showcase, the Kia Pavilion features FIFA World Cup 2026-themed interactive games and prizes, selected test drive opportunities for the Carnival and Sportage, and exclusive rewards tied to bookings and test drive participation. Kia has also partnered with the Korea Tourism Organization to provide visitors with travel inspiration and tourism information, reinforcing cultural connections between Malaysia and Korea. An AI-driven visual art installation by acclaimed Malaysian digital visual artist Max Jala is presented at scheduled times throughout the show, adding a creative-technology dimension to the brand experience beyond the vehicles themselves.
Kia TotalCare’s eight-year warranty and servicing commitment is a substantial extension beyond the five-year period more commonly associated with Kia ownership in Malaysia, and it addresses directly the long-term cost-of-ownership concern that increasingly factors into purchase decisions in the family SUV and MPV segments where the Sportage and Carnival compete. The inclusion of eight complimentary tyres — claimable individually for punctures or damage rather than only as a complete set — adds a genuinely practical dimension to the package that reflects a recurring, real-world ownership cost rather than a marketing-only inclusion. Combined with the RM8,000 cash rebate and complimentary first-year insurance, the total package value is significant enough to warrant direct comparison against competing offers from other brands in the same segment before a purchase decision is finalised.
For buyers evaluating the EV4 and EV5 specifically, the use of WLTP-rated range figures is a meaningful point of differentiation, given that WLTP testing is generally considered more reflective of real-world driving conditions than the NEDC or CLTC cycles still used by several competing electric vehicle brands in the Malaysian market. A WLTP figure of 612 km on the EV4, even allowing for the typical gap between laboratory and real-world performance, suggests genuinely usable range for daily driving and moderate intercity travel. The EV4’s 350 kW-capable fast charging and the EV5’s fingerprint authentication and V2L functionality both reflect a maturing specification standard that brings Kia’s electrified models into closer parity with category leaders from both established and newer entrant brands.
The Kia PV5’s introduction, meanwhile, signals an early but notable diversification into commercial and lifestyle vehicle applications that extends beyond Kia’s traditional passenger car identity in Malaysia. While its initial relevance may be more pronounced for fleet operators, logistics companies and ride-hailing or delivery service providers than for individual retail buyers, its presence at KLIMS reflects a broader industry shift toward purpose-built electric platforms designed around specific use cases rather than adapted from passenger vehicle architecture — a direction likely to become more commercially relevant in Malaysia as last-mile delivery and shared mobility services continue to expand.
