Huawei Consumer Business Group Malaysia has announced the launch of its latest flagship tablet, the HUAWEI MatePad Pro 12.2″ (2025), positioning the device as a premium PC-level experience tablet designed for professionals, designers, and content creators.
The new tablet represents Huawei’s latest effort to bridge the gap between traditional laptops and mobile devices, offering what the company describes as a comprehensive solution for modern professionals who require flexibility and portability without compromising on performance.
The MatePad Pro 12.2″ (2025) comes equipped with several advanced features designed to enhance productivity and creative workflows. The device includes PC-level WPS Office, providing users with a full-featured office suite that includes documents, presentations, and spreadsheets with enhanced functionality compared to standard mobile versions.
Under the hood, the tablet features flagship performance enhancements, including a new heat dissipation design that the company claims improves performance by up to 30%. The device is powered by a 10,100 mAh battery that can achieve a full charge in 55 minutes, ensuring all-day usage for professionals on the go.
The tablet’s multitasking capabilities are supported by Smart Multi-Window and App Multiplier features, allowing users to run multiple applications simultaneously. A new Live-Multitask interface enables users to operate up to three apps at once, complete with tile-style app display and adjustable screen ratios for optimised screen management.
One of the standout features is the Tandem OLED PaperMatte Display, which delivers a 144 Hz refresh rate, 2.8K resolution, and HDR Vivid support. The anti-glare nano-textured display is designed to reduce 99% of ambient light interference and has received certification from TÜV Rheinland and SGS for eye comfort during extended use sessions.
For creative professionals, the device integrates seamlessly with the HUAWEI M-Pencil (3rd Gen), which features NEARLINK technology and is housed in a hidden stylus slot within the HUAWEI Glide Keyboard for seamless charging and pairing. The stylus works in conjunction with HUAWEI Notes and GoPaint applications, which include AI handwriting enhancement, professional-level brush tools, and frame-by-frame animation capabilities.
The MatePad Pro 12.2″ (2025) reflects Huawei’s strategy to capture the growing market of professionals seeking mobile computing solutions that don’t sacrifice functionality for portability. The device aims to serve users who transition frequently between work, creative projects, and entertainment while maintaining high performance standards.
The tablet is priced at RM3,599 and is available for pre-order through multiple channels, including HUAWEI Experience Stores, the official HUAWEI website, and major e-commerce platforms including Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok Shop.
Customers placing a RM50 deposit during the pre-order period are eligible for rebates of up to RM200, along with complimentary accessories worth up to RM2,045. The gift package includes the HUAWEI M-Pencil (3rd Gen), HUAWEI Mouse, HUAWEI Backpack, HUAWEI SoundJoy, and PC Level WPS software.
Huawei Consumer Business Group Malaysia also launched the HUAWEI FreeBuds 6, Huawei’s latest open-fit wireless earbuds that promise improved comfort, advanced audio technology, and extended battery performance for Malaysian consumers.
The new earbuds represent Huawei’s continued focus on the growing open-fit audio market, targeting users who prioritise both premium sound quality and all-day comfort without the sealed ear canal experience of traditional in-ear designs.
The FreeBuds 6 features a dual-driver system, which Huawei notes is uncommon in the open-fit earbud category. The device incorporates an upgraded 11mm dual-magnetic driver combined with Bass Turbo 2.0 technology, designed to deliver deeper bass response while maintaining the open-ear design philosophy.
A significant technical advancement is the earbuds’ support for lossless audio transmission of up to 2.3 Mbps when paired with compatible Huawei devices such as the HUAWEI Mate X6. This capability is powered by Huawei’s proprietary L2HC 4.0 codec, enabling 48 kHz/24-bit high-resolution audio playback that the company claims delivers studio-grade wireless audio quality.
The FreeBuds 6 incorporates advanced call technology designed for various environmental conditions. “HUAWEI FreeBuds 6 supports two-way silent calls in all scenarios, which eliminates background sounds in a 95dB high-noise environment for a clear and conducive connection,” according to the company’s technical specifications.
The earbuds feature noise suppression capabilities that can handle ambient sounds and wind interference up to 8 meters per second, making them suitable for outdoor activities and challenging acoustic environments.
Building on user feedback and ergonomic data, the FreeBuds 6 utilises what Huawei describes as a refined droplet design based on analysis of tens of millions of human ear data points. The ear stem volume has been reduced by 12% compared to the previous generation, with each earbud weighing 4.9 grams.
The earbuds are available in three colour options: Purple, White, and Black. A notable design element is the UHF Planar Diaphragm Driver integrated into the shell, which serves both functional and aesthetic purposes.
Battery life represents a significant improvement over previous models, with the FreeBuds 6 offering up to 36 hours of music playback when combined with the charging case—six hours more than the previous generation. Quick charging functionality provides 2.5 hours of playback from a five-minute charge.
The earbuds support dual device connections across iOS and Android platforms, allowing automatic switching between connected devices. The pairing process has been streamlined for Huawei device users through proximity-based pop-up notifications.
The FreeBuds 6 introduces intelligent head motion controls, enabling users to answer or reject calls through simple head gestures like nodding or shaking, providing hands-free operation without requiring touch controls on the earbuds or connected device.
The HUAWEI FreeBuds 6 will be available in Malaysia starting 24 June 2025, with a retail price of RM699. Launch promotions include complimentary gifts valued at RM327 for customers purchasing through official channels.
The earbuds can be purchased through HUAWEI Experience Stores, the official HUAWEI website, and major e-commerce platforms including Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok Shop.
