We recently attended the W Wine & Liquor Warehouse x Sky Palace 天宫 “Orient Fine Dining” wine pairing dinner which was supported by G.H. Mumm.
Chinese restaurant Sky Palace 天宫 is located within OneCity in USJ25, and merges the traditional Chinese colour palette masterfully with a modern and edge-seeking vibe, creating an elegant backdrop to its authentic Cantonese cuisine. Spanning over 8000 sq ft across two floors, Sky Palace’s elegance interior with modern Chinese décor adorns the main dining area, as well as two (2) VVIP and seven VIP luxurious private dining rooms equipped with karaoke facilities.
The culinary team at Sky Palace 天宫 is helmed by by multiple international award winning Chef Lai Yong Meng. Using only high-quality organic ingredients, Sky Palace offers a selection of finest and tantalising Cantonese fare that combines authentic flavours with originality such as dim sum, Double Boiled Superior Shark’s Fin Soup With Lobster Fillet, Special Baked Whole Turbot Fish served in Clay Pot, Stewed 2H Abalone with Cabbage Oyster Roll, and Signature Suckling Pig.

G.H. Mumm Cordon Rouge champagne is the maison’s best-known variant, and is named after its famous red cordon: the red ribbon of the Legion d’Honneur, France’s highest civilian honour, which has adorned each bottle since 1876.
The cuvee is a complex blend sourced from over 100 different crus, and spent 20 months ageing in the Maison’s cellars. On the eye, you’ll notice abundant bubbles and a vibrant, yellow colour testify to this champagne’s energy and vigour.
On the nose, Mumm Cordon Rouge Champagne reveals aromas of fresh white and yellow fruit with hints of lychee, pineapple and praline, driven by Pinot Noir grape.
On the palate, you’ll get an energetic freshness, underscored with complexity. The champagne is well-balanced with fresh fruit and rounded notes of caramel prolonging the intensity and leading to a powerful, memorable finish.
This champagne is well-suited as an aperitif, and can be savoured with a meal of white meat or fish, or shared as a toast for celebrations.
G.H. Mumm La Rose de Ramage 2017 hails from France, and is a very dry style of Rosé, with a bright cherry colour, courtesy of its Merlot-based blend. On the nose, you’ll get ripe red berry aromas with a hint of cassis. On the palate, it taste crisp, with mouthwatering redcurrant, strawberry and raspberry fruit.

The establishment is located at One Puchong Business Park, Puchong (facing the LDP highway, and next to Best View Hotel), Selangor, and is one of the largest wine shops in Malaysia with more than 3,000 square feet of wine displays that accommodates more than 20,000 bottles of wines from Australia, France, Spain, Germany, Italy, Chile, USA, Argentina, and other New and Old world countries.
W Wine & Liquor Warehouse has more than 500 wine selections and sources their red wines, white wines, champagnes, sweet and dessert wines from more than 50 labels and wineries all over the world. As mentioned above, the establishment sources their wines directly from foreign wineries, which enables them to sell the wines at warehouse prices – generally priced 10% to 15% cheaper with wines ranging from RM49.90 a bottle to RM6,888 a bottle. There are also wine consultants at the store are on hand to assist you with choosing a bottle (or perhaps a few bottles!) that suits your taste. W Wine & Liqour Warehouse offers free wine tastings for wedding and corporate event selections.

In line with their “Warehouse Concept”, walk in customers can enjoy a 5 % discount with six (6) bottles of wine purchased and 10% discount with purchase of 12 bottles or more.
